The film revolves around Murugan, his birth, marriage and his acceptance of the post of the head of the army of heaven. In Hinduism, there are six abodes of lord Muruga, known as the "Arupadaiveedu". The story behind each of the abodes are portrayed chronologically in the film. It starts with Swamimalai, where Lord Muruga teaches the meaning of the word 'OM' to his father, Shiva. He goes to Palani Hills after a fight over a sacred fruit, that is his second abode. Then he wins over the demon king Surapadman in Thiruchendur and that is his third abode. The King of heaven, Indra offers his daughter's hand in appreciation of Lord Muruga's victory and he marries her in Thirupparamkunram, his fourth abode. He later marries Valli in his fifth abode of Thiruthani, later after a short dispute between both his wives they amicably settle in Pazhamudircholai, his sixth abode. All the events are summarised by Nakkeerar, a great Tamil poet portrayed by Sirkazhi Govindarajan at the end of the film.

Tamil is one of the longest-surviving classical languages in the world. A. K. Ramanujan described it as "the only language of contemporary India which is recognizably continuous with a classical past". The variety and quality of classical Tamil literature has led to it being described as "one of the great classical traditions and literatures of the world". Recorded Tamil literature has been documented for over 2000 years. The earliest period of Tamil literature, Sangam literature, is dated from c. 300 BC until AD 300. It has the oldest extant literature among Dravidian languages. The earliest epigraphic records found on rock edicts and 'hero stones' date from around the 3rd century BC. About 60,000 of the 100,000 odd inscriptions found by the Archaeological Survey of India in India are in Tamil Nadu. Of them, most are in Tamil, with only about 5 percent in other languages. Tamil language inscriptions written in Brahmi script have been discovered in Sri Lanka and on trade goods in Thailand and Egypt. The two earliest manuscripts from India, acknowledged and registered by the UNESCO Memory of the World register in 1997 and 2005, were written in Tamil.

In 1578, Portuguese Christian missionaries published a Tamil prayer book in old Tamil script named Thambiran Vanakkam, thus making Tamil the first Indian language to be printed and published. The Tamil Lexicon, published by the University of Madras, was one of the earliest dictionaries published in Indian languages. According to a 2001 survey, there were 1,863 newspapers published in Tamil, of which 353 were dailies.

the best innings he has played for India

Rohit Sharma: I was in the dressing room. I don't have any words left. You got to expect something like this in a game like this. We wanted to stay in the game for as long as possible. That crucial partnership was the game-changing moment for us. The pitch had something in it. There was nice carry. Some swing and seam. Good to see from the bowling perspective. They had a good partnership (Iftikhar and Masood) after that.

They batted well towards the end as well. But we knew we had to bat out of our skin to chase this. Those two guys (Kohli and Pandya) are experienced. Staying calm and taking the game deep was very critical. Good for our confidence. Always crucial to get off the mark like this. We were in no position to win this. The way we won that's more pleasing for us. Hats off to Virat for the way he batted, has to be the best innings he has played for India. I would like to thank everyone, it's wonderful to see. Their support for us is very, very crucial wherever we go.

Babar Azam: Our bowlers bowled really well. All credit to Kohli and Pandya. It wasn't easy with the new ball. We had partnerships after 10 overs. We had a chance. We tried to stick to our plans. But credit to Virat Kohli. In the middle we decided we wanted a wicket and held the spinner back. We had a lot of positives. The way Iftikhar played and the way Shan played.

Virat Kohli | Player of the Match: It's a surreal atmosphere, I have no words, no idea how that happened. I am really lost for words. Hardik believed we can do it, if we stayed till the end. When Shaheen bowled from the pavilion end, that's when we decided to take him down. Haris is their prime bowler, and I hit those two sixes. The calculation was simple. Nawaz had one over to bowl, so if I could take Haris down, they would panic. From 28 in 8, it came down to 16 to 6. I tried to stick to my instincts. The first one was back of a hand slower ball (the one over long-on). Standing here I just feel like it was meant to be. Till today Mohali was my best innings against Australia. Today I will count this one higher. Hardik kept pushing me. The crowd has been phenomenal. You guys (fans) kept backing me and I am grateful for your support.

They are jumping on to Kohli. He has been engulfed by his mates. Rohit Sharma has lifted him on his arms and twirling him like a child. Is this the best T20 knock when there is so much of pressure? This is stuff of legends. It happens in fables and Bollywood potboilers when the hero comes out of nowhere to save the day. What a man! What a legend! Kohli seemed to be a little teary-eyed. India were dead and buried at 31 for 4. But Kohli and Pandya saw a few overs off. Then went for the attack after 10 overs and have managed to script something historic. But credit to Pakistan. They were ruffled early on but came back with the bat first in the second half and then carried the momentum when they had the ball in their hands. The seamers turned on the heat and Rohit and Rahul had no answers. SKY fizzled out too soon. Axar couldn't do what Nawaz did earlier in the Asia Cup.

History of Charminar Old City

History of Charminar

Charminar was built by Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah, the fifth ruler of the Qutb Shahi dynasty when he shifted his capital from Golconda to Hyderabad. The old city of Hyderabad was designed keeping Charminar as the centre of the city. The monument was built in order to commemorate the decision and eradication of plague from the city. It is known as Charminar as it is supported by four minarets on four sides.

Structure of Charminar

The Charminar is a square structure 20 meters in length from each side. It has four grand arches that face a fundamental point that open into four streets. There stands a 56 meters tall minaret at each corner with a double balcony. Each minaret has a dome on top with petal like designs at the base. You need to climb 149 steps to reach the upper floor.
The structure is made of granite, mortar, marble and limestone. There is a mosque located at the western end of the open roof. You can get a bird's eye view of the city from the balconies of Charminar. The devout people could offer prayers in a very peaceful manner inside the mosque.

Facts about Charminar

According to many old tales, there seems to exist a secret tunnel between the Charminar which leads way to the Golconda Fort. Many people of also said that there might be treasures hidden there but no one has been able to locate any such thing till now. At present, there are many high-rise buildings in the city of Hyderabad, but at the time it was built, Charminar was the first multi-storeyed building in the city. An important fact about Charminar is that there is a cat's head that is designed in the apex of one of the small arches on the eastern side because cats help in keeping away rats and rats once almost destroyed Hyderabad.

Sridevi followed the success of Nagina by playing a goofy crime journalist in the 1987 film Mr. India opposite Anil Kapoor, which was described by Rediff as "one of the most iconic films of its time".[67] Directed by Shekhar Kapur, it became one of the highest grossing hits of the year and also found a place in Hindustan Times' list of 'Top 10 Patriotic Films of Hindi Cinema'.[68][69] While the trade famously joked that the film should have been named Ms. India,[citation needed] Rediff also stated that "Sridevi was a complete show-stealer in the film".[67] Sridevi's imitation of Charlie Chaplin in the film was described by The Times of India as "the most hilarious act she has ever done".[70] Rediff also featured Sridevi in its list of 'Super 6 Comic Heroines' stating that "her mobile face expressions could give Jim Carrey sleepless nights" and that "her biggest plus point is her ability to be completely uninhibited in front of the camera".

The dance number ''Hawaa Hawaai'', cited by The Times of India as "one of the unforgettable numbers of Sridevi",[72] also became a popular nickname for the actress.[73] Besides comedy, Sridevi featured in the video for the song ''Kaate Nahin Kat Te''; Filmfare described Sridevi as "truly a goddess in a blue sari".[74][75] Rediff also featured the song in its list of 'Top 25 Sari Moments' praising Sridevi's "ability to look erotic even when she's covered from head-to-toe".[76] Box Office India states that with the success of Mr. India, Sridevi "continued her domination" over her contemporaries Jaya Prada and Meenakshi Sheshadri.[51]

The film emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of 1989.[citation needed] Cited by The Times of India as "one of the most watched films of Indian cinema",[77] the film also reaffirmed Sridevi's position as the top female star of the 1980s.[78][79] While she topped the Hindustan Times' list of Yash Chopra's 'Top 5 Heroines',[80] CNN-IBN also ranked her first on a similar list, saying "Yash Chopra immortalized Sridevi as the perfect Chandni".[81] India Today and NDTV also included her in such lists, stating that the film established Sridevi "as the nation's sweetheart".[82][83][84] The Tribune wrote: "Leena Daru scored a winner again when she created the 'Chandni Look' for Sridevi. Every street corner sold the salwar-kameez and dupatta that gave the heroine a refreshingly understated look, rarely seen on the Indian screen",[85] Sridevi's dance number "Mere Haathon Mein Nau Nau Choodiyaan" proved also popular with audiences,[86] and she also lent her voice to the film's popular title-track.

Abu Bakr became one of the first converts to Islam and extensively contributed his wealth in support of Muhammad's work. He was among Muhammad's closest companions,[3] accompanying him on his migration to Medina and being present at a number of his military conflicts, such as the battles of Badr and Uhud.

Following Muhammad's death in 632, Abu Bakr succeeded the leadership of the Muslim community as the first Rashidun Caliph.[4] During his reign, he overcame a number of uprisings, collectively known as the Ridda Wars, as a result of which he was able to consolidate and expand the rule of the Muslim state over the entire Arabian Peninsula. He also commanded the initial incursions into the neighbouring Sassanian and Byzantine empires, which in the years following his death, would eventually result in the Muslim conquests of Persia and the Levant. Abu Bakr died of illness after a reign of 2 years, 2 months and 14 days, the only Rashidun caliph to die of natural causes.

Batting Great Virat Kohli Will Become The First Indian to Play in 100 Matches

Batting great Virat Kohli will become the first Indian cricketer to play in 100 matches in all three formats of the game on Sunday (August 28). The former captain is certain to take the field in the second match of the Asia Cup 2022 against arch-rivals Pakistan at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Kohli, 33, has so far played 102 Tests, 262 ODIs and 99 T20Is for India, scoring 8074, 12344 and 3308 runs respectively. The right-handed batter also has 70 international tons (27 in Tests, 43 in ODIs).

India's Group A match at Asia Cup 2022 against Pakistan tonight will be Kohli's 464th overall and 100th T20I. This edition of the continental tournament is being played in the shortest format, corresponding with the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia later this year.

Ross Taylor became the first player in the world to play 100 matches in all three formats. The former New Zealand captain achieved the feat in February 2020. The 38-year-old retired earlier this year after playing 112 Tests, 236 ODIs and 102 T20Is.

Virat Kohli, who last scored a century in November 2019, made his international debut on August 18, 2008 in an ODI against Sri Lanka. He first played a T20I for India on June 12, 2010 against Zimbabwe.

Kohli made his Test debut in 2011.[7] He reached the number one spot in the ICC rankings for ODI batsmen for the first time in 2013.[8] He has won Man of the Tournament twice at the ICC World Twenty20 (in 2014 and 2016). He also holds the world record of being the fastest to 23,000 international runs.[9]

Kohli has been the recipient of many awards– most notably the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy (ICC Men's Cricketer of the Decade): 2011–2020; Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy (ICC Cricketer of the Year) in 2017 and 2018; ICC Test Player of the Year (2018); ICC ODI Player of the Year (2012, 2017, 2018) and Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World (2016, 2017 and 2018).[10] At the national level, he was awarded the Arjuna Award in 2013, the Padma Shri under the sports category in 2017[11] and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, the highest sporting honour in India, in 2018.[12]

In 2016, he was ranked as one of the world's most famous athletes by ESPN[13] and one of the most valuable athlete brands by Forbes.[14] In 2018, Time magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world.[15] In 2020, he was ranked 66th in Forbes list of the top 100 highest-paid athletes in the world for the year 2020 with estimated earnings of over $26 million.

                    Personality

Maine Coons are kittens in big cat suits, gentle giants who are playful well into old age, as well as jumbo-sized packages of loving devotion. Maine Coons can also be reserved around people with whom they’re not familiar, probably due to their jumbo-sized brains. Given time, however, even the most cautious adapt. This initial adjustment period is actually a decision-making process; Maine Coons are deciding if these new humans have proven themselves worthy of trust. As soon as they make up their minds, however, they form close bonds with the entire household and become loving and devoted.

Most want to be near you but not on your lap. They are true family members and participate in all family routines, whether watching you channel surf from the comfort of the couch, or following you from room to room. As befits a former seafarer, Maine Coons are fascinated by water, perhaps because their thick coats are water-repellent and won’t become annoyingly soaked as easily as a thinner coat would. Some will join their humans in the shower briefly, or at least walk around on the wet floor after you get out. They prefer to stand on the edge of the tub, however, and touch the water with a curious paw.

History

This last story has at least a ring of truth. Seafarers who used cats to control rodent populations on their sailing ships probably brought some longhaired cats with them to the New World. Some of the cats went ashore when they reached the northeastern coast and established themselves on the farms and in the barns of the early settlers. Given Maine’s severe climate, those initial years must have been tough on cat and human alike. Only the breed’s strongest and most adaptable survived. Through natural selection, the Maine Coon developed into a large, rugged cat with a dense, water-resistant coat and a hardy constitution.
